Who we are

Meet Wally, my four-year-old Welsh Corgi—a breed that requires a lot of physical and mental exercise. In order to provide the exercise he needs, I spend a lot of time training him and getting him out for walks and hikes on the various paths and trails around Pocatello. Before our outings, I started asking Wally if he wanted to go walkabout when I’d get my walking shoes and it began a ritual of me tying my shoes while Wally waited excitedly for me to be ready to go.

In my efforts to entertain him, I realized how much I loved being outdoors with him and meeting other people and their dogs on our adventures. I spent a lot of time watching Wally play with the new friends he would meet while I chatted with the other dogs’ owners. I noticed how much fun it was to watch the dogs run and play, and to interact with them whenever I could. That’s when it occurred to me: I should build a business around doing what Wally and I enjoy, spending time outside and working with other dogs.

Now we spend our time exploring the trails and paths Southeast Idaho has to offer, giving local dogs the exercise, socialization, and care they need while their owners are at work or away. Whether your pet needs a midday walk, overnight care, or just someone reliable to check in while you're gone, Wally's Walkabout is here to help. Every service is personalized, every pet is treated like family, and every adventure is an opportunity for sniffs, exploration, and discovery.
